The Death of Camelot
King Arthur ruled with his Guenevere
In a land of domestic bliss
The eagle few in a bright blue sky
As the Orient whispered that the
Lion slept contently on the nation's steps.
Then Lucifer rose, aiming his weapon
At Arthur's head. The eagle screamed
And the Lion roared as the great king
Fell and the crystal ball rolled over
The edge. Then the people quaked with
Fear as they mourned their leader's death.
Twice more Lucifer rose to kill again
Swiftly and savagely taking two of
Arthur' favored knights. Guenevere
Cried, angrily cursing the land as
She flew with her bubs. While the
People gathered
The remains of
A broken crystal ball.
A war raged on within distant shores,
Taking the young while killing the
Spirit within. On cracked steps
The restless lion with cripple paws
Whimpered, as on a dark dreary night
The eagle tried to fly on maimed wings.
Through the years Guenevere hovered,
Nurturing and protecting Arthur's injured
Blood as the land struggled to
Keep its place. Rulers rose and rulers
Fell, some dedicated-One destined to
Lead the country into morale disgrace
Then it came to pass the Guenevere was
Laid to rest, while the cubs emereged
From their den.And the land soon saw
A prince full grown all dressed in his
Heritage of magnificent grace. So the people rose
With hope and joy for the return of their sweet Camelot
For it was hoped that he would see what
The people saw was meant to be, in assuming
His rightful place. But in one night the
Dream was destined to die, for in a dark, dark haze
The gentle Prince did fall from the moonless sky into the
Deep, dark blue sea beside the land of the broken crystal ball.
Once again the poeple mourned for the father
And son. for this time they knew that
Camelot was not to be. And in their
Pain they began to fear,
That Lucifer had risen gain
To seal
The Fate
Of a Shattered Nation.
